love the sinner hate the humanist

Okay maybe too much hastiness
blew on the humanist rant.
Seem to recall Rabelais qualifies
as a humanist – all the renaissance

works hailed humanism’s virtues.
But a bunch of dour bastards did invade
the glade intended for cartoon magic.
Don’t see how dispute can do

anything but remain seated and more
mute than a gagged dispute
could in a nightmare dream of being.
All this does is bolster the fiction

that an earthly utopia
must be – and this must include
democracy, that is if one dares a glance
down the road, dirty as it already is

About Timmy the Scribbler

Love to write all kinds of stuff I love writing so many different kinds of stuff it is a constant struggle to narrow the focus to a manageable handful and let the others go. But a few years ago I dipped my fingers into a poetry pie and of all my uncertainties, one thing that is no uncertainty is that it is one passion that must remain, so maybe that's the one. I do dearly delight in chopping up fictional works into stanzas and syllables.
