Terrible Greeting Cards #1

Hey man, happy birthday,
though I still remember
that day your cat dropped that beautiful
songbird in our yard, but that was
a long time ago, and I guess that’s my
and my family’s trauma
we’ll just have to get over because
that was your cat and cats are bird killers,
but anyway, glad to hear it’s your birthday,
but boy I’d sure be a lot happier
if I could afford to send you
something better than this chintzy card.

About Timmy the Scribbler

Love to write all kinds of stuff I love writing so many different kinds of stuff it is a constant struggle to narrow the focus to a manageable handful and let the others go. But a few years ago I dipped my fingers into a poetry pie and of all my uncertainties, one thing that is no uncertainty is that it is one passion that must remain, so maybe that's the one. I do dearly delight in chopping up fictional works into stanzas and syllables.
