a poeticized exercise extract-excerpt from a novella I’m working on redoing

* * * * * * * * *

In a very small dimension not quite underneath
but close enough for these purposes to say
approximately underneath the corner of the hedge’s L,
there was a small Suggestion Agency
which had like the Semen Springs City citizens
mostly called it a day, except they always kept
at least one or two Suggestion Agents
on duty during the night. And this night there was one

Suggestion Agent handling these limbo hours
and usually this Suggestion Agent wasn’t too busy
because the Suggestion Agency lived to serve
this section of the Semen Springs City
and as was already stated, most of the Semen Springs
City citizens were by now soundly snoozing.
The best fit for a shift for this Suggestion
Agent hadn’t come overnight, as in, this Suggestion

Agent was highly talented in dreaming up suggestions
as long as there was not a bunch of bustle about;
but this talented Suggestion Agent tended to lose
track of an anchorage when the daytime bustle
bustled hard and in this part of Semen Springs City,
bustle, the daily hard kind of bustle,
was a guaranteed descriptive; except
relative to pretty much all other worlds

what was considered bustle in Semen Springs City
was at best around sixteen percent of what real
bustle was in pretty much all those other worlds;
someone like Blue Bibs would see Semen Springs City
as a place full of bustle; so Semen Springs City
sort of bustled but didn’t really bustle big
and even if they got a short burst of a bustle the bustle
could be predicted to peter out pretty quick.

About Timmy the Scribbler

Love to write all kinds of stuff I love writing so many different kinds of stuff it is a constant struggle to narrow the focus to a manageable handful and let the others go. But a few years ago I dipped my fingers into a poetry pie and of all my uncertainties, one thing that is no uncertainty is that it is one passion that must remain, so maybe that's the one. I do dearly delight in chopping up fictional works into stanzas and syllables.
