association exercise 4

the meat is done though gravy
turns out runny though hot
as always and was one tall thick
ticket in the column
favoring the hardwood –
no sense laying new carpet
when a few feasts have faded
on the calendar while in memories
great glitter sparkles on the bed
of oysters and oh see

how milky this verse aside
trickles, though the visual
of the sauce’s hasty descent
down the leg of the oriental
heirloom is fetching, worries
do pester about if too much
of the sour was dribbled
– maybe one teaspoon amounted
to plenty – maybe a poor bud
wishing to kiss the chef sputters

due to too deep of a submergence.
On the bright side, the basics
are easy and why more morning picnics
should be taken on the living room
or den or bedroom floor – the gravy
may be thicker tomorrow – could add
exotic spice in a pinch – spicy
mussel brimming butter sauce – oh by
all means the timer is rewound
for an immediate new beginning

About Timmy the Scribbler

Love to write all kinds of stuff I love writing so many different kinds of stuff it is a constant struggle to narrow the focus to a manageable handful and let the others go. But a few years ago I dipped my fingers into a poetry pie and of all my uncertainties, one thing that is no uncertainty is that it is one passion that must remain, so maybe that's the one. I do dearly delight in chopping up fictional works into stanzas and syllables.
