if prose is a lady

if prose is a lady
learned in academies
of etiquette so no matter
how many tricks she will show
a gent she’ll yet hold up her glove
and turn her nose to the sky
and say there are things a lady

just doesn’t do, then poetry
is the tart both sweet yet fiery
who knows it all and there’s nothing
she won’t do – except she’s a tad psycho
since you never know if she’ll rise
in dominion and point to her nylon
toes or if she’ll spread her treasures

and ask what are you waiting for
or if she’s in the mood to play
hard to get so you have to chase her
and own her for her to do what she
really will do and there is
nothing she will not do
including enslaving her gent

About Timmy the Scribbler

Love to write all kinds of stuff I love writing so many different kinds of stuff it is a constant struggle to narrow the focus to a manageable handful and let the others go. But a few years ago I dipped my fingers into a poetry pie and of all my uncertainties, one thing that is no uncertainty is that it is one passion that must remain, so maybe that's the one. I do dearly delight in chopping up fictional works into stanzas and syllables.
