but the theme is an identical twin
to the twin, the more tedious
out of the humble pair,
and maybe that’s why
the constantly frustrated,

shoulder-sagging, tobacco-spitting,
coarse-voiced, emergency mood crew
resorted to the blue jay this afternoon.
Blue jay can’t begin to blend;
who knows how many cardinal

coats or lark turtlenecks he tried on;
so he found his bush and went to town,
sprinkled his spunky jazzy chirps
and his peppery cool flutters
and at most a crow butchers a copy

Love to write all kinds of stuff I love writing so many different kinds of stuff it is a constant struggle to narrow the focus to a manageable handful and let the others go. But a few years ago I dipped my fingers into a poetry pie and of all my uncertainties, one thing that is no uncertainty is that it is one passion that must remain, so maybe that's the one.
