2014 #139

just when a dullness appeared about the close
of festivities and lots had emptied and booze
bottles sighed sentimentally;
and just when that mood looked like it would spread
easy dominance throughout all formerly
sunny playrooms, enlightenment’s gift-giving lights
brought brand new eyes while taking a break
from other, older or erstwhile
manual labors and their pairs
raising calluses for charity causes;
doing this for a window purview

and couldn’t miss a reel streaked with irrelevant
scratches from whippings and boy, now there goes
and there brays a pack of boys who will be
barons in sleeves of puffy maroon
and pantaloons deeply soaked
in nature’s better behaved breezes
brought throughout June wrapping always
grapevine vibrant green, meaning there they’ll be
because of prophesied bravery
entombed even while they breathe
and still impress passably who will

permit themselves to be impressionable
like youthful females, which criminality
went soft on but only time tells
what history has been made mute
to speak of and chatter and gossip
pushed to encourage shrugging by antiques
no matter how respectable
their stores’ addresses or the color
of the houses the cheeses call home
but these must wait another session
to enter into deeper detail, September say.

About Timmy the Scribbler

Love to write all kinds of stuff I love writing so many different kinds of stuff it is a constant struggle to narrow the focus to a manageable handful and let the others go. But a few years ago I dipped my fingers into a poetry pie and of all my uncertainties, one thing that is no uncertainty is that it is one passion that must remain, so maybe that's the one. I do dearly delight in chopping up fictional works into stanzas and syllables.
