to all the beautiful women in Romania

to all the beautiful women in Romania,
I’m going to miss you most of all.
Sure we have fine women back home.
But the streets are mostly empty of pedestrians
and this would include streets empty of beautiful
women dressed in tight tight tights or short short skirts
or short short shorts or low low cleavage happy tops.
Maybe more modest in dress. A lot more
modest in dress and carriage. Let us not forget
where the puritans extensively fertilized.
Oh and going to the Black Sea? Oh my goodness.
My favorite spot on the earth, the Black Sea.
Favorite name, favorite spot, favorite feel:
The Black Sea. Maybe I got spoiled fast.
Got that residence card and thought – this is it –

this is my home – so cool – so happy.
Whatever else is going on, however low
a day would happen to turn, there is
the certainty that an outing by foot
just about anywhere in this place will bring
to these eyes a reason to smile.
Something to sniff while sashaying by,
or waiting at a crosswalk, or riding the subway,
or parking on a park bench and just watching the world
stroll or skate or bicycle by.
So yeah I’m going to miss you most of all.
Romania may have its problems.
But the women. Hm-hm-hm. So so
sweet. Sigh. Long deep, sad, sad, sigh.

About Timmy the Scribbler

Love to write all kinds of stuff I love writing so many different kinds of stuff it is a constant struggle to narrow the focus to a manageable handful and let the others go. But a few years ago I dipped my fingers into a poetry pie and of all my uncertainties, one thing that is no uncertainty is that it is one passion that must remain, so maybe that's the one. I do dearly delight in chopping up fictional works into stanzas and syllables.

I may be more prophet than poet, though this was no difficult prophecy
